CBFC elects new executive committee for 2025–2027


The China-Bangladesh Friendship Center (CBFC) has elected a new Executive Committee for the 2025–2027 term during its sixth Annual General Meeting (AGM), held online on Friday night.
Dr Fakhrul Islam Babu will serve as president, with Chen Qiuhua (Roseanne) as general secretary, said a press release.
Veteran members Mohammad Kamrul Hasaan and Zhong Yanmeng (Jason Zhong) were named honorary presidents for their longstanding contributions.
The leadership team also includes Joint Secretaries Nipa Das and Ashiqur Rahman Sarker, while vice-presidential duties has been entrusted to Fung Chi Nok (Lenny), Jahan Md Shah, Dr MNH Munim, and Mohammed Iqbal Bahar.
Md Shariful Islam has been made organizing secretary, Shaik Niaz Hossain has taken charge of finance, and Shamsul Arefeen Shohel will oversee trade and industry affairs, the release said.
In the new committee, Golam Rabbani Raza will direct international affairs; Syeda Saika Rosy will oversee women’s affairs; and MG Shams Khan will monitor education and training.
Social welfare will be overseen by Saddam Hossain Rony, culture by Sheikh Ali Ashraf Faruk, and press and publicity by Tahrima Islam.
ICT is under Sudipto Roy Akash, youth affairs under Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, and programme coordination under Sajeda Sabir.
CBFC says the new committee will focus on expanding cultural exchange, education, youth engagement, and cooperation between Bangladesh and China over the next two years.
