Fresher’s Virtual Orientation Held on Department of EEE of CUB

Department of EEE, Canadian University of Bangladesh held Virtual Orientation for Summer 2020 on June 29. On that occasion the Honorable Founder and Chairman, Dr. Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat was conveyed with his best wishes to the new students. Honourable Vice-chancellors, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, PEng graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Mr. Emdad Haque, Systems Engineer, Laureate International Universities, attended the program from Sydney, Australia as Special Guest. Program Chair, Dr. MD Shahrukh Adnan Khan, MIET, FERC, Associate Professor & Dean (Acting), School of Science and Engineering, Head of EEE Department and Director, Innovation & Commercialization Center started the event with his welcome speech. Md. Mamunur Rahman, Senior Lecturer and Md. Pabel Shikder, Faculty member of the department delivered motivational speech whereas Ms. Lamiya Rahman, Lecturer of EEE shared a presentation describing the features and specialities of the Department as well as the University, which are 13 research and commercialization cells of EEE, special issue on SCOPUS journal from the Department, IoT Lab from High-Tech Park, credit transfer to Canadian and other International Universities, student mobility in Universiti Teknologi PRTRONAS, final year thesis and industrial training in foreign countries and so on.

Canadian University of Bangladesh is leading from the front during this Corona Pandemic with their outstanding online education platform and dedicated University Management System together with highly experienced faculty team to ensure quality education, stated the Dean of Engineering School and Head of EEE. ‘We have not missed a single class for the consecutive two semesters even in this Corona Pandemic. We are going online with creative assignment, online quiz, virtual presentation and so on. For the 1st time in Bangladesh, we have started OTBE- Online Tutorial Based Education with a motto of inspiring applied knowledge. We do care for each student, a promise that EEE holds’, the Dean concluded.
