E-commerce is a booming sector in Bangladesh since last 7 years. It’s growing fast and already started contributing to the country’s economic growth. Government and other related agencies have started considering this sector as one of the highest prospects.
E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) and Area71 jointly launched an “Amazon Seller Summit” today (Friday) where different categorical product sellers were took part and showed their interest to sell goods/products globally via amazon.
Md. Ahsan Habib, founder of Area 71, said, “Amazon, an American e-commerce giant, wants to sell the Bangladeshi goods into global buyers with flexible terms and conditions. Sellers can easily listing their products without any costs. Our agency will ensure full support to the sellers so that they can manage their online business easily on Amazon.”
“To gather live experience of launching online business and entering into the international market are the main goals of our agency. A special team of our agency will be trained them to conduct their activities easily, he added.
This team will assist them (sellers) in performance management, order management, in addition to overall account management like product listing, handling price changes, marketing etc.
‘Area71’ is the first organization of Bangladesh who is working to help amazon sellers from Bangladesh. They started their journey in 2017 when there was barely any amazon seller in Bangladesh. They saw that the ecommerce entrepreneurs are not taking the advantages of cross border ecommerce opportunities.
But, the amazon, who is working since 2015, saw that there’s a big opportunity for Bangladeshi products in the international marketplaces like amazon and Bangladeshi ecommerce entrepreneurs can be benefitted from this cross border business.
Later, they launched their amazon business in Bangla version. This is the first initiatives where 500 people took part and among those people, started their business in amazon.
Then they created a group dedicating to amazon sellers named “(AFM – AMZON F-B-A MASTERY GROUP). Currently, they have 2600 plus+ people in their group and many of them selling on amazon, learning how to sell in amazon. They created this group to discuss about the problems, providing helpful tips, sometimes they do workshops, and if anyone faces any problem, they try to help solve those problems.
By conducting the boot camp, they took their activities into next steps where they work with a group of people to help them. They can be learnt that how to earn from marketplace through their skills.
Currently they are also working with e-Cab (ecommerce association of Bangladesh) to make 1000 amazon seller from Bangladesh.
So far they are helping thousands of people from Bangladesh to see the dreams that they can start their amazon business from Bangladesh and Bangladesh can also bring remittance.
“We are dreamer; we see dreams and we believe that the cross border ecommerce business Bangladesh can bring millions of dollars remittance per month. We are working to reach that point every day,” added Md. Ahsan Habib while addressing in his speech.
